FORECAST ~ UNSETTLED

BRIAN & ANGELA

Even the Table talks back at me ~ as I dine alone

The cracked plate  ~ the upturned empty glass

The stale bread ~ the crossed knife & fork

The stained board ~ no fancy tablecloth or napkins

Empty chairs and an air of gloom and doom

Maybe it's time I got married & started a FAMILY !

Family takes the staleness out of life. Safe journey.

Brian, a sad poem for the lonely hearts club. As I read it, I felt it was also a tongue-in-cheek poem. By the time you return to poetry land, you will have an abundance of marriage proposals so you will not be eating alone in the near future. I enjoyed reading your poem. ~ Sonia
