My Tree My Friend

Augustus

My friend did call me–just today

To say a thing or two

About his wife and kids–grandkids

Filled me out of the blue

Through panes of glass a tree does see

My life within this room

Growing, seeding, flowering–feeding

Nourish me from my gloom

A tree, a friend, my life–depends

On sup they may provide

"lil" difference by God– the pair

From Him I cannot hide.
