Give Me Your Heart

morbidcuriosity

Give me your heart

and I'll give you a love poem

I'll sow the fibers into words

dot every "i" and cross every "t"

with what's left of the blood inside your arteries

I'll replace the spaces with cavities

so that the verse can breathe

I'll record the beat for passion

and tie it up with webs

made of capillaries

Then, carefully, I'll put it back

Trust me,

You won't feel a single stitch

When it's all done,

the warmth of my love will flood your body

and you'll squirm below the earth

for my company

Give me your heart

and I'll give you a love poem.

WELCOME MC ~ Thanks for you first poem ~ Nice structure ~ well spaced "free verse" poem with plenty of rhythm which complemented the topic of HEART BEATS. It is very clinical in its description of a Heart Transplant ~ Replaced by a LOVE POEM , Christian Barnard said he was surprised by the cavity when he removed the heart ~ have to be a substantial poem ? But I see you replace the heart so all is well that ends well ! It seems a fair exchange ! Thanks for sharing ~ more please. Youirs BRIAN ~ Please check my poems THANKS..
