Skin Deep

KayaK96

Look deeply into my eyes and tell me what do you see

Pain and a mesmerizing smile that hides from the outskirts of the world

Scars that were never healed because of told words

The mind destroyed her beauty and everything in between

It left her bleeding from a suicidal dream

A dream that seemed so real yet so overwhelming

That she woke with blood dripping from her veins

Insomnia crept upon her day and night

Leaving her unsettled with life tormenting her very soul

Leave me now I'm begging you

Just let me love myself for once

Let me be me and let me look into the mirror to stare back at my own reflection

At the end of it all my happiness and self worth is highly above it all

Now will you end up like me or stop it before it's too late??

  • Comment from author about the poem: Love yourself and embrace ever aspect of who you are. Never let anyone tell you differently because you are truly "Worthy". Self confidence is the key to a positive mind set.

  • BRIAN & ANGELA

WELCOME KAYAK ~ Thank you for your first poem which is both cathartic and challenging. It pulsates with inner rhythm and angst which makes it powerful both to read and recite. Our self esteem and self worth can easily be damaged and damage inflicted by unfeeling Man (and Ladies) is noy easily repaired. BUT when we look fairly and squarely in the mirror and SEE THE POTENTIAL looking back at us ~ we can LOVE OURSELVES once again. Thanks for caring and sharing ~ YOURS BRIAN Please check my poems ~ Thanks B
