Raise Your voice
and deliver the melody
my feet beg to step to.
Bring me to the table
spread with empty plates
in need of Your grace.
Give me to You,
I will give to the world.
And all I ask
is to awake in Your light
if I sleep for too long.

- Comment from author about the poem: I used to pray every day when I was a little girl. I did not grow up in a spiritual family, but when my Mom-Mom first told me about our Great Creator, my soul fell in love, and worship Him I did. When I entered high school, I turned away from Him; focusing more on boyfriends and jobs. In college, I continued experiencing life without Him. I felt so empty, and I lost the understanding of who I am. I remember chain smoking cigarettes one day, crying, feeling like I was an empty vessel- identity crisis was weighing me down. I even came to the point where I wasn't sure if I believed in Him; I wasn't sure what I believed, what I wanted, what I needed. I felt as though my soul left my troubled body during this time. When I was younger, I used to ask God to always remind me that I love Him, and that I am thankful for Him, and that no matter what, I want to walk the path he made for my feet. Well, the power of prayer is a beautiful thing, because years later, I am back with Him, and I am rich with so many blessings. Though he let me wander, he brought me back to Him in a beautiful awakening, and today, I feel closer than ever to the person I want to be. Ask Him, and you will receive. The image was taken on St. Patrick's day, 2016.

sweet prayer !
Thank you very much!
THANKS SARAH ~ Great Prayer ~ straight from your heart ~ AMEN. There are several Spiritual Poets on MPS like Tony & Wordman etc and (so far) I have never had a negative comment on a Spiritual Ode or a Psalm. The scripture tells us to be WITNESSES in all situations ~ including Cyber Poetry Sites. There are some sexplicit poems but they are in a minority. If people are hurting I offer to pray for them and it is always well recieved. AVIGAIL is a Jewess and her poems are always a philosophical challenge ! She is 60 so I always send her a hug which she sends back. MPS is a very friendly site ~ Thanks for caring ~ BRIAN Love the visual ~ Thanks GOD for St Patrick ~ I love rainbows ~ Gods promise (and the refraction of sunlight in raindrop prisms ! Thanks B
Thank you for your beautiful comment! I am excited to look into the spiritual poets you recommend- I'm sure they are beautiful poems! That's such a comforting thought- to read other's poems of what challenges they are facing and then send them love- it helps me realize it's so easy to connect positively, even from far away! Thanks again, Brian:)
Sarah, beautiful honest prayer. I also am a believer, but going through a period of introspection in my second half of my life.
Thank you very much! I wish you the best during this time in your life 🙂
