The prism of autumn leaves have
given way to winters white snow.
No longer the object of fascination,
the dead remnants disintegrate in woe.
Each season has it's own reward.
Summer surely keeps my attention.
But there is one that I despise.
Winter feels like a long detention.
The months without sun and warmth
seem like prison without end.
I serve my sentence quietly
as I search for new ways to fend.
The autumn bursts of colors and breezes
would seem like a blessing right now.
Oh, if I could smell a bouquet today,
the heaviness in me would take a bow.

HI CHRISSY ~ I love the structural elegance of all your poems ~ even when the subject is a bit gloomy MICHIGAN is one of the loveliest STATES to be in ~ miles of beautiful shoreline ~ lakes ~ waterfalls nad forests and lovely people ! Truely a "WINTER WONDERLAND" Of course you do get real Winters in Michigan so you have to be prepared. The SNOWBIRDS in Florida stay on for a few extra weeks ! You are only YOUNG~ but If you do go out wrap up well and pit "The chains on your wheels to set you free !" If yu stay in snuggl up close ~ light a lkog fire and enjoy a "hot toddy" ! (That's a drink). Our Winters in Souh England have little snow due to Global Warming so all our sledges arwe locked away ! I love the FALL & SPRING and Summer is Heaven, Take heart it will soon be APRIL and Winter does have Christmas & New Year Parties ~ Thanks for sharing ~ more please ~ Yours HUGS ~ BRIAN Please add a stanza to my FUSION POEM ~ It's all about FOOD ~ what's your fave ~ Thanks B

Thanks to all who reviewed. BRIANSODES, what a lovely review! I do love living in michigan but it should only be able to snow on christmas! I should add I don't know what a fusion poem in but I will check it out. My fav food is chocolate. Not really a food lol. Thanks so much!!
