Compressed,compacted
My sense of myself has become refracted
Seen as if through a kaleidoscope
It's as long and as short as a piece of rope
Dilated, diluted
Mixed-up and polluted
My understanding is convoluted
The grip I once had on reality
Reads like a Shakespearian tragedy
Eluded, evaded
Discoloured and shaded
My every ambition has been downgraded
What were my dreams are now my fears
And nothing is quite as it appears

WELCOME PADDY ~ Thank you for a very honest first poem. Love the structure pulsating with rhyme and rhythm ~ very readable and reciteable ! As we progress through life our ambitions and aspirations do become more ~ compressed & compacted ~ dilated & deluded ~ eluded and evaded OK. However because we slow down we stay in equilibrium and don't notice till we drop off the edge ! Every edge has its compensations ! Thanks for sharing ~ more please ! Please check my poems ~ Yours BRIAN ~
i have so many more, experiments, accidents, all sorts
I say this is a splendid impressive rhyme scheme and the wording poetically expressive and lyrical in an advanced literate way. Many admirable lines, llike ' my understanding convoluted, how u rhymed that in with the other wordings wow in fine flow. Kudos.
Pls do comment out my latest poem too. I'm a new poet here but have been writing poetry since years and readers enjoyed it elsewhere until I found this site and wish to make new poem pals.
