Wear Me Down

Doll in Wonderland

There is just something about you,

That burrows deep, under my skin

Next to my heart but this is not love

It's something akin to a cancerous growth

You break my resolve,

Then break my will

There is no gentleness about you.

Everything about you hurts me,

And rubs me the wrong way.

I find myself wondering what I'm doing here

With you, once again

But sometimes, you kiss me so nice,

And your gentle heart peeks through

When exceptionally lucky,

I may even get touches that could pass for tenderness

If I don't look too closely

Or hesitate

There will surely come a day,

When I won't let you wear me down

And come when you call,

But until then,

Maybe this thing can pass for love

Or at least good company

From time to time.

Yeah, I really, like really relate to your words. Like not just this work, but everything I've read of you thus far.

Thanks, that means a lot. I just write what my heart feels, good, bad or otherwise. 🙂
