Lauren's Poem

MaxJellison

I wish I said I love you the last time I saw you

Carrying a hurt heart from the night before

Instead of facing my issues, I let anger stew

Wanting you so badly to be with me

Scared distance was tearing us apart

Instead of fighting, I cowardly sought to flee

My pain does not surrender on any day

To focus on love and positivity

I let go to God and continue to pray

Mornings come and nights go

I am always thinking of you fondly

Yearning for your sweet messages to make my phone glow

While it hurts to have had and lost you

My life is still renewed

With self-control, discipline, direction, and hope

For you are an angel through and through

Always know each and every day

I wish I said I love you the last time I saw you

Welcome MAX ~ Thank you for yuoe first poem ~ very thought provoking poem. I'm single in my thirties but my philosophy always is: "Better to have loved and lost ~ than never to have loved at all !" Hoever like you ~ There are times when i wish i had said "I LOVE YOU" ONE LAST TIME ! .A well structured poem replete with rhyme and rhythm which made it east (but painful) to read and recite ! More please ~ Yours BRIAN Please check my poems ~ Thanks B
