Bottle of Love

mminarik00

My beloved cares for me like a drunk

Slipping in and out of reality

I try to fix him but I always flunk

I think I do it for all who I pity.

Reckless like the driver who’s had too much,

Puts himself before the others around

Physically, mentally on a crutch

When lovers like us wish not to be bound

I’m an object to him, one of his drinks

Gripping the bottle more closely than me

I’m trying to leave, it’s got me to think,

Maybe, just maybe, it wasn’t to be.

I’m trying to make his habit his past,

For my love for him is stronger than that.

WELCOME MINARIKOO ~ Thanks for sharing a very personal and moving first story . Beer (5) Wine (12) Spirits (35) as the % of alcohol increases o does the speed of the effect. I know if I drink too much ~ too quickly ~ I change and not always for the the better. I have never been an alcoholic but I hve friends (M & F) who are ~ some of them hooked for life. I can empathise and I do understand. You are a great BLESSING to your Man and love transcends everything, Love the resolve in your last doublet "Trying to meke his habit his past ~ My love for him is stronger than that !" Thinking of you both ~ Yours BRIAN (UK).
