Let me be me

I feel I'm shut in a room,
Cowering from the light
Because My thoughts they race and wonder,
but do they always have to hide
The key that keeps me cornered could easily be found
But it lingers deep inside them, guarded by pride

Or perhaps I'm locked in a box,
The one that makes the sounds
Because I'm here just for show,
turning round and round
Maybe I'm just paranoid or maybe truly scared
That Some day soon,
I won't deserve my crown or
Worth my beautiful sound

I could be trapped in a game,
one they sit and watch
controlled by their over powering sentiment, ambushed by my looks
Although they see the content, they never really see
The hard work and the stamina
That makes us truly be

Or maybe I'm sitting in a cage,
Seeming to be free
However I'm not just an animal, purely to be seen
They think they know what I do, just sitting in array
But behind the mask theyll only know a glimpse at who Ill always be
But I've been taken from my home
too young to stay afloat
So I pace and wonder along the dead end street

But all rooms I'm trapped in,
The light is always found
I can break the pedestal and create a different crown
The games they play are never real and they can never truly win
And cages are weak and brittle
With opinions they trap inside
But My will, hopes and stamina
Can break them out from inside
