  • Comment from author about the poem: The ARMISTICE of WW1 (1914 - 18) between the UK & Germany was signed at 11am on the 11th November 2018. Ever since the we remember all those who have died or been injured in the last 100, years of conflict. We have 2 minutes silence at 11am on 11 November every year. We sell red poppies to wear on Rememberance Sunday each year. The British Legion organise the sale of the poppies to assist those Families who suffer deprivation because of their loss. and also those wounded in conflict. Our target for the POPPY APPEAL in 2016 is £43 million ($60 million). Over 6 million people ~ in the UK ~ are eligible for support ! Thanks for reading ~ BRIAN

Very well done acrostic. In america, we celebrate Veterans day which is similiar, just to celebrate all those who have served our country. Thanks for sharing! Christina
