The Wind

Christina8

The wind is angry tonight

Whipping violently at the trees

Howling and whistling too

A warning of what's to come

Branches and twigs snap under her speed

Animals will need to snuggle in tight tonight

Sure to send a shiver down your spine

As the wind knocks on your bedroom window

The whirlwind tries to snatch every last leaf

The remaining ones dance on the tree limbs

Celebrating victory over mighty gusts.

Mother nature laughs as her children play

Tonight the mighty wind won't stop

Until she goes on her way in the morning

And sees to it that the winter snow

lay a carpet of white on those below

WOW CHRIS ~ Thanks for a very powerful poem about the elements. Warm wind can be soothing but Winter Wind blows us away.. Despite our distance ~ it is the same molcules that blow through the USA and the UK and the increasing global winds are not something made up by the CHINESE to disrupt US & UK Trade. I've emailed Uncle Don but he's too busy oiling his GUNS ! Hugs in the SPIRIT ~ BRIAN

Thanks for your kind review! Yeah, just a yucky day outside. We've been having snow in november since we were kids. hugs in the spirit--Christina

Great capture of a wintery moment. And also interesting you refer to the wind in the feminine, almost a true extension of mother nature - can be soothing at times and sometimes can be tormenting.

Thanks so much for your kind review! I don't often write in freestyle but it just felt right. It's still really windy!
