The condemned~

Kira

Another day passed by as I stared at the mirror, my filthy screams escaped from my crying self, yearning for salvation, they once were innocent victims, concealed within my sanity until they broke free, and shattering it as the insanity was reborn. The madness turned my pure cries into a horrid laugh and my martyr tears were emptied and became apathetic ones. Grimacing into the mirror, I watched it crack and implode as the pieces cut my pale skin, using my competence of concealing, I endured the painless razors inside my skin, but there was a part of me, deep within still mourning for purification and I realized after I saw my reflected self on the shattered pieces, I’m the condemned!

  • Comment from author about the poem: In fact, I really don't know what type of poems I write, but in every one I write, I do it for a reason, using my feelings to put them into a fantasy story and sorry for my English, it's not my first language.

Wow! This is beautifully done. Yearning for salvation that only leads to more condemnation. I definitely sense the hopelessness and was reassured in the author's notes that this was fantasy. I have studied Spanish for 7 years and recently attempted a poem in that language. It was impossible for me. I applaud you.

I love your dark style, I usually write similar and will post some in time as we can only post one per day here. I like the imagery invoked by your writing. Although you write of internal pain it is a wonderful thing to turn it into something beautiful. A good reminder that there isn't always a happy ending, but we go on regardless of the hand we are dealt. I would like to read more of your work 🙂 xx

WELCOME KIRA ~ Thanks you for a very powrful first poem ! Beautifully phrased ~ but bursting with self doubt and self harm. In retrospect it reflects how many of us feel but we domt always write about it. You will see friom the responses you have received ~ that we are a very supportive and empathetic site. We accept your poem at face value and seek to encourage and bless. In the sight of GOD we are all condemned but oinly God can redeem us by His Spirit and as we seek to please Him so He blesses us ! Working in the healing Profession is a great calling and you will find your redemption in the work that you do bringing love and healing to others. I am a Teacher and the rewards are the same. Every Blessing ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
