T THANKS be to God for His blessings we pray
H HARVEST provision for our families each day
A ALL things we need God's rich hand does provide
N NEEDS are all met when we stand by their side !
K KINDNESS is shown to the people in need
S SUFFICIENT for all hungry people to feed
G GOD sends the grain the sun and the rain
I KNOW from experience again and again !
V VOICES we raise to our Creator's praise
I INVOKING our praises for harvest's rich grain
N NOTHING feels better than sharing our bounty
G GOD'S blessing abroad through each State and each County !
D DON'T just rejoice in your own little corner
A AS you sit down to share in you favorite chair
Y YOU who have plenty share your food with the POORER !

- Comment from author about the poem: The first Thanksgiving Meal was 400 years ago (1621) between the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians at Plymouth. In 1887 the White House had the following menu: Oysters ~ Chicken soup ~ Turkey ~ Mash ~ Squash ~ Onions ~ Parsnips ~ Chicken salad ~ Venison en croute ~ Pumpkin pie ~ Mince pie ~ Charlotte russe ~ Ice cream ~ Jelly ~ Nut cake ~ Cheese ~ Fruit and Coffee. The meal I had at a Friend's in Atlanta Georgia a few years ago was not much different. For many Americans the Thanksgiving meal is more important than Christmas Dinner. Perhaps in the UK we should start a BREXIT Thanksgiving Day for liberation from EUROPE ! Thanks for reading ~ Love BRIAN XOX

You must have worked very hard on this because its amazing! Thanksgiving acrostic is all in rhyme and the authors notes alone are remarkable. I didn't know what they ate at the White house in 1887! I always love your acrostics but I especially love this one! hugs in spirit--Christina
Welll CHRIS ~ You know I am a perfectionist and I always like to do a bit of research. The US ex-pats in the UK always celebrate Thanksgiving but it's not the same as celebrating it in the USA ! Have a lovely Thanksgiving with all your Family ~ Big spiritual HUGS ~ BRIAN
