The Colors of the Sky

Christina K

As the colors of the sky

touched down atop the lake,

I forgot the world was black and white

and the scenery was fake.

The dream world I lived in

had kept me in too long,

I forgot the world outside was bad,

I forgot that world was wrong.

Yet the colors of the sky

seemed so real from where I stood,

I almost wanted to believe

I lived in a world of good.

But the world still stands so evil

with a fake, waxy facade,

and I wouldn't have thought twice about it

if the sky hadn't been so odd.

Thanks CHRISTINA for a very reflective poem. Trouble with the media is ANGEL that they always concentrate on the BAD NEWS and not the GOOD ! They reduce a beautiful multicolored World to a bad 2D black and white FAKE FACADE. Sometimes GOD has to reopen our eyes to the BEAUTIFUL TECHNICOLOR WORLD He created for us all to enjoy ! So CHRIS ~ ignore the painted facade ~ accentuate the positive ~ eliminate the negative and ENJOY ~ HUGS ~ BRIAN

I really love this piece, love how you describe forgetting the negativity of the world around us by being lost in the beauty of the sky and the magnificent colours it displays. Easy to see how we can forget the pain for just a short time when we stargaze. πŸ™‚ xx
