Mum's Slippers

mhawkes92

You sit there in the corner,

A constant reminder of an awful truth.

Once bright colours now faded,

Yet emotion still vivid and red raw.

I feel the grooves that remain,

The imprints you left on so many lives.

You won't outgrow these slippers,

But life goes on and I will grow into me.

WELCOME MH ~ Thanks for an elegant and very moving first poem. When our loved ones pass over to the other side sometimes it's the small and silly things that remind us of their love and life. Mum's Slippers is one of the nicest poems I have ever read on MPS. Thanks for caring ~ BRIAN Please check my poems ~ Thanks BRIAN
