THE LIFE OF P I E !

BRIAN & ANGELA

So many comments have mentioned a PIE

PIE in the oven and PIE in the Sky

PIE on the table PIE on my plate

PUMPKIN PIE for Thanksgiving I ate

Here is a question I often ask WHY

When Where How & Who invented the PIE ?

PIE is so tatsy ~ pie is so neat

A circle of goodness ~ sav'ry or sweet

360 degrees all ready to slice

Serve it with custard or gravy so nice

Here is a quaetion I often ask WHY

When Where How & Who invented the PIE ?

Pastry's just water & flour & fat

Even a Man can easily make that !

Line a flat bowl ~ pop in the filling

Pop on the top and give it a grilling !

Here is a question I often ask WHY

When Where How & Who invented the PIE ?

When GOD invented ADAM ~ He kept tricks up His sleeve

Like ~ LOVE ~ Multitasking but He shared them with Eve

Like soothing a Babe when it's starting to cry

How to wash ~ clean & iron and HOW TO MAKE PIE

So I no longer ask Who ~ How ~ When ~ Where or Why

It was GOD the CREATOR who invented the PIE !

Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ Pie for all ~ BRIAN

  • Comment from author about the poem: I am surprised that not all Countries worship the PIE like we do in the UK ! After FISH 'n CHIPS our favorite national dish is PIE 'n CHIPS (beef ~ chicken ~ ham ~ cheese ~ fish etc) you can put anything in a pie ~ even people ~ as Sweeny Todd discovered. Pies are portable and if wrapped in foil will keep hot for hours. The Cornish Pasty was the ultimate meal in a pastry case ~ Meat & potato at one and and apple in the other ! Most pies are circular which makes equal portions easy whether there are 2 3 4 5 6 7 or 8 round the table. If there's more than eight the rule is you need another pie ! The same is true of PIZZA. Thank GOD for PIE every day ! Please mention your fave pie in your comments ~ Love to All ~ BRIAN XOX

Splendid rhyming poem about one of the best things EVER! Loved your authors notes by the way. Hmmm, I like a really good banana creme or a dutch apple pie. Hugs in spirit-Christina

I always love reading the comments your write as much as the poems themselves as I always learn something new 😀 Yes, the pie is a national fave in the UK - in the Northwest town of Wigan they even have 'pie barm' - which is a bread cake with a pie plonked in the middle! My fave pie would have to be sweet cherry, served warm but with cold pouring cream, though I personally prefer strudel as I have a terrible sweet tooth. Great write, as usual Brian 🙂 xx

Thanks SABRE ~ nice to get a bit of feedback from the North of England ~ love the concept of a PIE BARM ! On LEEDS MARKET in the Winter it was "PIE 'N MUSHY PEAS" A warm pork pie was placed in a dessert dish and covered with hot mushy peas till you could not see t'pie ~ AWESOME ! Warm Cherry Pie or Strudel with cold pouring cream another fave of mine ~ Thanks for a lovely comment ~ HUGS ~ BRIAN XOX
