It is a hurt that never goes away, robbing
you of all your strength today and from here
on to all tomorrows when moments become
memories become sorrows and love without
presence, sick past convalescence, to sit out
the remainder of your family's life shattered,
robbed of all that really mattered, knowing
that if ever again you could force a smile,
behind it will lie the afterloss of your precious
play-loving child.
