It’s Sunday in the garden Mr. Songbird sings his song
The cardinals in the maple tree join in to sing along
The Bumble Bees are busy where the roses like to climb
As the Blue jays eat the berries growing on the vine
Miss Cottontail is hopping home but she’ll be back again
While the squirrels are all playing try to catch me if you can
I leave peanuts for the chipmunks and other creatures great and small
And every time I leave them there they always eat them all
Is it a symphony or a circus It’s all so magical to me
Sunday in the garden what a lovely place to be

Thank you Chrissy! I appreciate it. ww
It is such fun to read and tell stories to entertain (and instruct) our kids. I had forgotten about this facet of poetry. Thanks for reminding us how magical this can be.
when the kids were young and I was broke I told them wild stories and made up fairytales for entertainment on the cheap. always good to try and get a moral in there as well. But yes poetry is a good teacher and always fun. Thank you for the read Augustus! peace ww
ww, I did the same but for a different reason. Reading from children's books was boring for me so I would make up stories.
