Broken

Molly Walsh

Maybe I was always broken, maybe it was cruel to blame you, is it possible that you just got tired? That you weren’t holding me because you craved feeling me close, my body under yours, my chattering jaw and rattling bones, soothed by your body heat. But simply because you knew I would fall apart without you holding me together. How can I blame you? Everyone gets tired, and she looked so strong. Strong, and beautiful, and funny and whole. And maybe you hold her because you crave having her close, her body under yours, you crave soothing the rattling of her bones. But is it also possible that, that is how we started out? Maybe we are all a little broken, and one day we will hold someone and never get tired because if they fall apart, we fall apart.

WELCOME MOLLY ~THANKS FOR A VERY CHALLENGING FIRST POEM ! Yes to some extent we are all born broken and often (as we get older ) we get more broken. And YES it is also true that we all need a special someone to stop us falling apart completely ! Thanks for caring and sharing ~ Hugs BRIAN.
