I found this funny (sad)

I found this funny (sad)

I found this funny,
How a rolled up paper and a goofy flat hat
Can make you a doctor or a drinker
How a rolled up paper . . . a Marley bat
Can make you a lover and a thinker
Thoughts are free of walls
Only in a rare circumstance
For surrounding bricks protect from more than just the cold
They protect from dreams and adventures,
from Beauty and experiences that let one grow old.

I found this funny,
How a single thought can turn grey into happiness
Pain and lack of direction into a road that continues past the horizon
How a Dream can be located on a map
Anywhere but here

I find it sad,
How thoughts are the only thing that shall escape these bricks, I truly do.
Find this sad.

WELCOME CROZBEE ~ Than you for a very amusing ~ and challenging first poem. It has the touch of the existential ~ and the Freshman ! We all have a FREE WILL ~ but as you say ~ we allow ourselves to be hemmed in by "FOUR WALLS" Check the song by Jim Reeves on You Tube ! In front of our bedroom mirror (and with a few props) we can a President or even a King (or a Queen) but we don't allow such frivolity outside our FOUR WALLS. Thanks for caring and sharing ~ BRIAN (UK). Please check my poems ~ Thanks B
