I got Christmas taken care of
and I'm still alive
when everyday is a hazard
to get out and drive
My daughter will know that
Santa didn't forget her
All of it I can tell you
has been quite a blur
My son will be happy to hear
Jingle Bell Rock, preferring it to others
while he opens his gifts and gets the
pj's and blanket he wants and smothers
himself in warmth and love
while my daughters toys are everywhere
Then my husband and I just look
at the spectacle, will just sit and stare
And be grateful for the love
we had to share this year
Thanking God for the gifts
We pulled it off a bit too near!

- Comment from author about the poem: I've always been prepared for Christmas by now but the harsh conditions made it impossible to shop. Pulled it off a bit too near to christmas for my liking!

I miss shopping for kids, malls, choir groups in the halls. Now I sit at home and order on Etsy or Amazon. Nicely done. Glad you are safe.
Thanks Augustus. I did have to order one thing on amazon. Playing it safe next year! Thanks for your review! 🙂
