The Once-Full Soul

Hairbi

I mourn my joy

But I do not weep

For loss of hope was such

That no longer knocks sadness

On the door of the once-full soul

And apathy prevails

For it thrives on emptiness

And is born of emptiness

And is now the sole inhabitant

Of the once-full soul

  • Comment from author about the poem: I keep a journal, and today instead of writing how I felt, I just kind of poured it out of me, in an almost a musical way.

WELCOME HAIRBI ~ Thanks for a very challenging first poem. The contents of my SOUL is dynamic and ideas ~ thoughts ~ attitudes etc move in and out and replace each other. It is generally HALF-FULL but never EMPTY and yet never completely empty. Never CLOSE your SOUL to LIFE or LOVE # keep it open and you will be surprised at what pops in ! Thanks for sharing BRIAN ~ Please check my Poems ~ Thanks B
