A Cat and a Dog and a Bat and a Frog
Sailed down the river in a carved out log
Who said the Frog ~ as they shivered in their stalls
Will survive the drop when we reach The Falls ?
The Cat said I'll jump and hope for the best
Ze Hunt sagt ~ Ich kann schwim mit gutz und mit zest
The Bat said I'll fly off into the air
I'll be out of of the boat ~ before we get there
The Frog just smiled and said ~ I started as Balls
We flounce and we bounce in Waterfalls !
The Falls drew nearer would they sink ?
The Bat flew off as they reached the brink
The Pussy Cat jumped and just by chance
He managed to grab a passing branch
The Frog he laughed as they faced oblivion
He loved the Falls ~ cos he's an AMPHIBIAN !
Ze Hund he was made of sterner stuff
He clung to the log though the drop was ruff !
When they reached the bottom in ze Pool als ein DAM
He jumped from ze boat and to safety SWAM !
The moral of this tale is ~ You'll be all right
If you think ahead of your possible plight ?
Learn to JUMP and SWIM and FLY
If you get in hot water then you'll come out dry !
We can all learn a lot from ANIMALS about SURVIVAL ~ OK

I found this story to be well written and so well rhymed. I agree it could be read to a child because it has a theme.The frog is my favorite~he "started out as balls!" "He laughed as they faced oblivion....cos he's an amphibian" But the moral as you say is that we truly can learn much from animals when it comes to survival. FANTASTIC! Hugs in spirit--Christina
WOW ~ YOU AND KAT ARE SO KIND AND PERCEPTIVE ! As you know I like to post a POEM a DAY so I go to bed thnking about what I will post the next day (very romantic !) . I woke up about 3 this morning (don't ask why !) and I was thinking about Frogs ~ Dogs ~ Logs etc. So I wrote the first three verses and the rest in the morning. I quite like it and it turned out better than I thought ~ I am still looking for a VISUAL. Tanks a big spiritual cuddle for you ~ BRIAN
