Gardens

brittany

I am constantly shifting

Growing

Sprouting green stalks from my fingertips

A crown of flowers upon my head

Roses bloom from my sunken collarbones

Still I have thorns on my sides

I have not always been beautiful

For flowers once withered away here

But now

A garden grows

~thank you

WELCOME BRITTANY ~ Thanks for a very fragrant first poem ! Flowers and Gardens are good analogies for life ! We grow and flourish then fade and die ! But thank GOD we all have our moments of BEAUTY ~ just like a rose ! I often imagine I'm a tree ~ sometimes a proud ENGLISH OAK ~ but at other times a WEEPING WILLOW ~ due to the vicissitudes of LIFE & LOVE ! Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN (UK)
