multi levels of writing

avigail

Writing is freezing time to express an idea.

Yet, the words are not the idea in itself, they represent it.

You records moments of  thoughts, emotions, sensations, memories, imagination and beliefs which form a mosaic click of reality.

The next day you read what you wrote  and things are not the same.

Do you stick to the memory of yesterday, or do you make the changes to adjust the rhythm and flavors of today?

Do you get to a point in which it’s clear crystal and stand on its own quality no matter what, when, and how?

Is this an independent entity of art?

Does it have any connection to the original passion of writing you had in first place?

Is the process more important then the outcome?

just observing the multi layers of writing...

          Welcome

AS YOU KNOW ~ AVI ~ BETTER THAN ME "The moving hand doth write and having writ moves on ~ Nor all thy piety nor wit can move it back to cancel half a line ~ nor all thy tears wash out a word of it ! The incidence and transience (yet permanence ?) of writing is a sobering thought. I have letters which I preserve (because of their preciousness) for all time even though the passion they express is long gone and irretrievable ~ and in some cases the writer has moved to a higher Astral Plane ! E-mails and the messages and poems and comments on MPS are both ephemeral and real ~ and in my impression to easily (and often hastily dispatched) We can send each other LOVE & HUGS because we have an excellent relationship built up gradually over many weeks and it is very precious ! BUT if I overstepped the mark and pressed SEND it could easily destroy what we have. BUT it is so easily done ~ which is part of the many problems of electronic communication. In the distant past 1990's when i didn't have a PC ~ I sometimes wrote and rewrote letters and even then did not post or hand deliver them for all the obvious reasons. I once sent a VALENTINE to the wrong SISTER ! But with E-mails and messages and comments on MPS it all happens too too fast ! Love and Hugs as ever ~ BRIAN

We all edit. I always like to leave and come back in an hour or a day or a while. In the end, we can always read what we wrote a year or so later and think I wish I knew then what I know now. Nice job Avigail!

You are on point. I had someone tell me, once, that you just have to let it go regarding work I had written in the past. So nice to read your work! Happy Holidays!
