Where Did I Go

gencruz

I used to love a girl. She was everything that I am not. She was a dancer, a writer, passionate and kind. Her goals were in reach and she had a heart full of hope. She was everything beautiful. But things change and change hurts. I no longer dance. My heart is bitter and I see no bright future. I can only look behind me and remember the girl I used to be. The girl I loved.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem came from the writing prompt, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Write about someone that you used to love.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" Time changes people and sometimes we wish we could be who we used to be. We wish we could be as carefree, hopeful, and optimistic as we used to be. At least I do.

WELCOME GC ~ Thanks for a very nostalgic ~ yet true ~ first poem. I'm twice your age so I can emphasise. Unfortunately we can't go back in time ! I wish i was 17 again (knowing what I now know !) but one just has to make the most of the time one has and get on with it. I have much to be very thankful for and the FUTURE is set FAIR. Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN (UK)
