- Comment from author about the poem: Visitors to England ~ especially from America ~ find the COTSWOLD VILLAGES to be perfect examples of Old England ! Old Stone Houses ~ Churches and Inns and Horse Fairs ~ Market Days and Fetes with Morris Dancers and other quaint English customs ! This is the real England ~ NOT London or the other big busy bustling Cities. Stow on the Wold is an ideal place to spend Christmas ~ peace perfect peace and O so quiet ! Comments welcome ~ Love at Christmas ~ BRIAN ~ XOX

Welcome
We often forsake the closest shores for want of more distant 'exotic' places, but in doing so we fail to see the beauty on our own doorstep. Great piece about the beauty of a certain portion of the Cotswolds Brian xx
Thanks SABRE ~ YES The Cotswolds do have an old fashioned timeless charm and so are a good place for quiet Christmas in a Cottage with Friends a log fire and a good supply of Old Speckled Hen. It's a far cry from the vibrant nightlife of Liverpool but both have their compensations and their charm ~ Hugs BRIAN XOX
It does sound like a perfect place. I remember a Germán laughing at me when I told her I lived in a very old house built in 1895. We don't have those stone structures in the states.
Thanks "A" ~ Yss that is true and all he COTSWOLD Villages have lovely old stone houses ~ with big stone fireplaces with ovens built and a place to boil a kettle for a "brew". Just staying in one for a week makes you feel very MEDIEVAL ! When we talk we start using THEE & THOU ! Yours BRIAN. Please check my 12 Days of Christmas Fusion and adda DAY ~ Thanks B
Sounds like a beautiful place to visit! If I ever got the chance I would deffinetly do so!!
Thanks TAYLOR ~ pleased you appreciated it. Because of the age of the UK (Some of our Cities and Towns go back more than 2000 years to Roman Times) we have many old Houses and Churches and Castles etc which makes it a very romantic Country for Americans to visit ~ we have a lot of History. Thanks for becoming my MPS Friend ~ Yours BRIAN
I would love to travel and it was nice to learn of someplace new i could add to my list of travels! and you're very welcome, thank you for being my MPS friend as well - Taylor
