- Comment from author about the poem: Indoor CHRISTMAS TREES were common in Germany and Poland and other East European Countries since the 1500's. They only became common in the UK and USA in the 1800's and many houses now have an OUTSIDE one ILLUMINATED. The illuminated houses in the USA and their indoor tress are very very spectacular but the displays in the UK are getting better every year. For cosmetic and ease of maintenance reasons many UK Houses now have a PLASTIC TREE but you miss the scent and the authenticity of a REAL TREE. Most Churches ~ Public Buildings ~ Stores and Town Squares etc always have a spectacular Christmas Tree all over the World and it has become a real symbol everywhere that CHRISTMAS has ARRIVED ! Because it is an Evergreen Tree I see it as a symbol that JESUS is ALIVE and always will be ! Christians worship and serve a LIVING SAVIOUR which is why Christmas is a such a Festival of JOY ! We celebrate the BIRTH and EVERLASTING LIFE of JESUS the Eternal Son of God who died and rose again to give us ETERNAL LIFE ~ AMEN ~ Love BRIAN XOX

we have a fake tree, which comes out every year. Not sure I'd go back to a real one, even though we have a Christmas tree farm around the corner! A very clever write with some very interesting facts, great work!
THANKS DANIEL ~ It is such a positive comment ~ I'll forgive you for having a faux tree ~ Happy Christmas ~ BRIAN
Great write
THANKS TONY ~ Pleased you liked it ~ Yours BRIAN

Did not know about the Norwegian connection. Great tradition. Cheers.
Thanks "A" ~ We try not to mention THE W*R ~ But we don't wan it to happen again ! The Annual Tree from Norway is a great symbol of PEACE and you can see the size from the photo ! Youis BRIAN
Good stuff. We have a fake one as it's easier and cheaper. I do however prefer a real one.
Thanks JEM ~ Pleased you prefer a real one ~ but they do shed a lot of needles ! Yours BRIAN

Very nice acrostic Brian! Also very informative! We have a small artificial tree in our home but you cant tell! Great job on this one!! Hugs in spirit! Christina
Thanks CHRIS for an encouraging comment ! Some of the plastic trees are very realistic and YOU can always spray them with PINE AFTERSHAVE ! We have a real one at STOW ~ Samantha is Tree Girl and is decorating it today. It is the PINE LOGS on the fire that make it scent real CHRISTMASSY and we have lots of spice scented Christmas Candles ! Have a rally nice day now you are XX ! Bubbly Love & Hug TO AMIGO DE NATAVIDAD A LA DISTANCIA ~ BRIAN !
