A Last glass of red..
A vessel filled with blood red wine,
Can transport you back to place in time.
Your day now finished to let down your hair
Sitting by the fire in your old favourite chair,
As you take a sip the memories now flow,
Of places and people only you would know.
warmth fills your body from your head to toe,
When remembering those who have gone before.
Recalling your kids when they were so very small,
Playing on holiday with bat and with ball.
Relatives gone but most certainly not forgotten,
They remain in your heart till your very last second

I will drink to that! I too remember loved ones, now no longer on Earth, and the good time spent together. Your poem makes me imagine sitting by the fire and feeling the warmth in it and the memories as I sit. Very special poem. P.H.
