TWO O ONE SIX ~ A MESS AND A MYSERY
A real dismal year that will go down in History
As the most unkindest year of all !
A Man called TRUMP is the BEAU of the BALL
And HILLARY got the PILLORY !
Please PRAY (night & day) for the U S A !
We did no better in the OLD UK
We got out of Europe on one fateful day
We made a quick EXIT with BREXIT
DAVID shot off ~ Like a Rat from a SHIP
Left us AUNTY TERESA to be our chief whip
And BORIS the CLOWN ~ who got the task
of explaing where the UK is ~ should anyone ask
PUTIN is PUTIN and does what he likes
He pumps up his athletes and doctors their BIKES
He reaps havoc in SYRIA while we all stand by
Our offers of help are just PIE in the SKY'
And CHINA just smiles and churns out more steel
The note MADE IN CHINA makes MISTER TRUMP squeal
Will it be better in TWO O ONE SEVEN
Will we all wake up not in HELL but in HEAVEN ?
Please take stock and think about the NEW YEAR DAWNING
TRUMP in the WHITE HOUSE and more GLOBAL WARMING
Eight Billion People all fighting for food
And YOU TUBE the BLUE TUBE ~ exceedingly rude
I think by December when the Earth's by STRIFE STRIVEN
We'll say come back TWO O ONE SIX ~ ALL IS FORGIVEN !

You did a great job on the poem with rhyming, first of all. Then you brilliantly but sadly summed up what a mess we are in. The stanza about Putin really mad me sad. We'll all just have to wait and see how things turn out. This is one of my favorite writes of yours. Hugs in spirit--christina

Same to your Dear Brian! We have to give the Trump a chance. It is the American Way. But, I agree as I see in the news regarding your BREXIT line, and exiting the European Union. I am sure life must feel uneasy, there. It is tough for me as a working class person, who still has to continue on, no matter what happens. So, Stiff Upper Lift is good advice though this trying transition in both our lands!
