ELEPHANTS in the Great British Circus and in UK Zoos are very well

treated and there are breeding programmes. What are your views ?

These are the only places (and Safari Parks) most people get a chance

to see and ride on ~  a live ELEPHANT.  Comments welcome ~ BRIAN.

  • Comment from author about the poem: In the UK ~ Wild Animals in ZOOS ~ Circuses and Safari Parks are very well treated. I think (as a Biologist) it gives children and adults an opportunity to meet Elephants and other non-European speciea of Animals. WE also have Breeding Programmes in the UK for endangered species. Please support the WORLD WILDLIFE FUND (WWF). Thanks for reading ~ please comment ~ BRIAN XOX

I think its wonderful what the zoos do for them. Anything and everything must be done to get poaching stopped. Wonderful acrostic, Brian. Hugs in spirit-Christina

There used to be huge elephant hunts in the 1800's and early 1900's with tons of ivory taken. One of our presidents was famous for this. He became know as Teddy Bear. A better name would have been Elephant killer. Nicely done.

YES INDEED "A" TEDDY ROOSEVELT (HIS Niece was Eleanor Roosevelt) was an Accidental President and a great Conservationist and formed the first National Park in the USA. Like many in his generation ~ he loved to shoot wild game ~ we know better tosy ~ Yours BRIAN

Thanks KJ # pleased your liked the Structure and the Subject ~ Elephants are awesome ! The great thing about ACROSTICS is that the number of letters in the WORD(S) ~ in his case EIGHT ~ which puts a limit on the number of lines in the POEM ~ This also gives the POEM a completeness. The only problem is finding the right INITIAL / WORD to start each line to make up the title word ! Thanks BRIAN

Looks like you did a terrific job there Brian! Yeah i can imagine it must of been abit difficult to find the right words etc but the more practice the more easier it would get! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to reading more!
