Time is of the essence

cynah Rae

It's funny how nothing seems to change
But when you look back,
So much has been rearranged.
The circle you started with gets smaller
People you broke bread with cant even talk
Unless they're  a private caller.
The relationship you began ends abruptly and you're left wallowing in regret
Like to be honest I wish he'd just walked past me and left me in my corner.
In between jobs because you're inexperienced for the graduate role you studied a whole three years for, now isn't that just uncalled for.
A lifelong friendship ends over a drunken argument, we let time pass and before you know it bridges have been burnt.
Seems like nothing changes
But when you look back,
Between the yes, no and maybes
You really could use some second chances.
As each day unfolds, your destiny is yours to shape and mould,
And before we let anymore bridges burn,
Leave no stone unturned
Using your time wisely, and use your mistakes and misfortunes as lessons learnt.

WELCOME CYNAH ~ THANKS FOR VERY ELEGANT FIRST POEM REPLETE WITH RHYME & RHYTHM. Love the topic ~ Time moves on and we get older but not much wiser. However I believe in the lessons experience teaches us ! I always say "Better to have loved and lost ~ than never to have love at all !" Thanks for caring & sharing ~ BRIAN (UK)
