The Fifth String

Thomas the Train

How many strings does a violin have?

Five, I answered you,

four tuned to G D A and E, and

straining between a stony mind and a fiery heart,

the fifth.

The mind resonates with the string,

but the heart goes to who cut it.

Which should I pick up,

a bow or scissors?

WELCOME THOMAS ~ For me the VIOLIN itself is the fifth string which is why the violin body itself (sans strings) is so prized and valued at millions of dollars. The DORAEMON is a robot cat called from the future to help ! Perhaps that is the link between the two stanzas ? Thanks for an enigmatic Poem ~ it made me think ! Please check my poems ~ Thanks BRIAN .
