Shock Therapy

lunafay

lay down

sleep now

forget what was

awake to a new beginning

hope for a better day

pray for the clouds to fade

precious memories lost

just a sweet sacrifice

in search of happiness

and do it all over again

just in hopes of finding your way out

of the darkness

to breathe

to live

  to be

Oh Dear, I feel for you! I'm very sorry for your dilemma. I've never had ect, but have seen it's effects. At one time I was a candidate for a "pacemaker" to stimulate the vagus nerve. Med cocktails finally did their job and I survived, but it was overwhelming for a time. You have obvious talent, and it's part of you - you will not forget how to write your beautiful poetry. I'll pray for you. Moment to moment... Just breathe... And write... -- phoenix

Thank you so much. I have read about the vagus nerve pacemaker for myself but my doctor was against it. Thank you for sharing your story.

          Welcome

WELCOME LUNA (BEAUTIFUL NAME) Thanks for your first poem ~ which is elegantly penned and a poignant confession ~ I trust you found it cathartic. MPS is a very empathetic site and you will get lots of support and prayer and encouraging comments. Thank you for sharing "how you feel" so delicately and openly. I am a BIOCHEMIST so i know that ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy) is a safe and effective alternative to drugs in th treatment of severe depression. 47 treatments in 5 months is a lot and I trust it is proving beneficial ECT has fewer side effects than drugs. When you are young Memory loss is hard to deal with ~ Thinking of you and Praying for you ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
