I Am

Lana D

I am a distressed petrified woman
I wonder if I'll be immune
I hear people say things behind my back
I see everything go black
I want to be comforted and be treated
I am a distressed petrified woman

I pretend to be happy
I feel the smile fade away say to day
I touch peoples lived everyday
I worry that I'll ruin some else's life
I cry myself to sleep over thinking
I am a distressed petrified woman

I understand nobody's perfect & everybody goes through pain
I say it's nothing big when it is
I dream I'll get my life back
I try to stay positive & not give up
I hope I'll grow out if this pain
I am a distressed petrified woman

WELCOME LANA ~ Thanks for your first poem. Very well written but with a distressing content which made me sad for you. You have com to the right site ~ BECAUSE ~ not only are we all very empathetic and supportive ~ BUT ~ many Members also confess to being DISTRESSED or PETRIFIED an some both. MY favourite line is: I TRY TO STAY POSITIVE & NOT GIVE ~ AMEN ! Power of positive thinking is the beginning of growing out of PAIN. Thinking of you ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)

You seem to be very insightful, which makes you more susceptible to these negative thought loops. You'll make it through. The sun will shine again. It always has
