My Mother

My Mother

Sometimes I sense my mother
When I walk into a room
Lily of the Valley lingers
Her favourite perfume

I really wish she was still here
So I could apologize
For all the many times
When we didn't see eye to eye

I had so much troubling me
But I chose to keep it in
Now I sit and ponder
On how different things could have been

I hated seeing her in pain
It was all beyond my control
I hope that she passed knowing
I loved her with my heart and soul

I'm putting down on paper
What I could not say aloud
I hope that if she were still here
I would make her proud

Mere words can not express
Just how much I regret
Losing my mum, my role model,
Who I never will forget

WELCOME JENNY ~ Thank you fro your first oem ~ which I found very moving. We only have one mother and she is always one of the most precious people in our lives. Especially as they are there 24/7 at and after our Birth and help us when we are at our most helpless. That maternal love and care can never be repaid. For those whose mothers are still with us ~ your poem gives us an opportunity to say to them now ~ what we are unable to say when they are called home to Heaven. All Mothers are Angels ! Thanks for caring ~ BRIAN (UK)

Welcome to MPS-I think your mother knows how you feel now. I lost my mother too. What an outstanding poem! Beautiful rhymes. Great job!

This is so beautiful. I'm so sorry. I am so so sorry. She hears you. I promise. No, I can't say I that I have been there so I can't say I'm completely understand. What I can do is tell you that you are not alone, that someone is here, and to never stop writing because that was beautiful. And that I'm sorry.
