I cry for the rejection on the terrifying nights;
That fill my glass with tears, tears of blood
From a wounded heart endlessly walking
Longing to be wanted and loved.
Tears like rivers, lakes, and oceans all flooding my chest,
And everything swirls within their murky depths;
Saturating my empty heart while I lie in bed.
Tears that in the dark nights my eyes without compassion
Seized by the madness of this miserable fate;
Tears that have reddened like crimson my saddened eyes
And the light is extinguished, now wandering
The darkness of the night like wayward ships;
I pray to God for His comfort and repose,
To give my soul peace of mind.
Now I hear the soft whisper of His voice
In the restless night.

We all feel like that from time to time. Your poem is wonderfully poignant but leaves us with light.
Thank you, W. That the intent of the poem... after the storm, the calm. "... weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" (Ps. 30:5).
An extraordinary poem. I have felt this way before, but then God is there to give us peace of mind like you say. I always say "let go and let God'. Thanks for sharing this piece!
Thank you Christina
You words encourage me.
Amazing poem!
Thank you!
I love the line "seized by the madness...." because that is exactly I cry some times. Your whole being is suddenly seized. Kudos.
Hello RRodriguez, Like smiles, tears are universal. We all shed them, however, sadly not all of us know how powerful and comforting prayer is. As your poem so beautifully conveys. Great write!
