Psychedelic Hibernation

NB

Yesterday I woke up but my body wasn't there

Just a dying glimpse of longing & despair

Locked between night & day, all that I could be

It seems that you found me there & swallowed the key

Yesterday I woke up down on the frozen shore

Near the stones covered in white, I found an open door

The other side was the same, but it's all I wished to see

Love still blind, lies obvious, & none of us free

I saw mountains of moss, roads paved with ice

Books written without words – a thought reading device

I sang the silence & the mute birds replied

A welcoming tune from that other side

Lakes, cities & people were different & the same

The picture had same colors, but a better frame

Their gardens weren't Eden, yet with love they were filled

While our fields were being soaked in all the blood we spilled

Yesterday I woke up & couldn't recall the dream

Just a dying, distant vision of surface lost in gleam

Locked between night & day, I knew what I could be

But while I slept, someone came & threw away the key
