Left for Dead

Edthepoet

My my, you threw coal
On the fire
And reeled out the dynamite wire
You walked away
and left me no prayer
As the flames grew higher and higher

You always knew how to burn me
You always knew how to win
And I'm a fool for pretending
My end is where you begin

My my, you pulled up the anchor
And dived head first for the harbour
I drifted away and crashed through the waves
As the storm grew wilder and wilder

you always knew how to hurt me
You always knew how to win
And I'm a fool for letting
You back into the kingdom of me

wow deeply felt pain and passion.....the hurt and betrayal are palpable in this beautifully penned piece.

Thank you Jane, I turned the hurt into words and made it through 😁
