Where do the hearts go?

Marie Braden

Vases are for roses and pretty flowers,

But where do the hearts go,

When emotions turn to water,

and tears rivers make,

Promises seem to be just something else to break,

Ya tell yourself tomorrow will be better,

When ya wake,

The flowers wither and decay,

Oh tell me please where do the hearts go?

They hold the truths of a soul,

From within true love should flow,

When life gets broken and kind words go unspoken,

Homes change and lives rearranged so much pain,

And children go dancing alone through the rain,

Oh! Tell me please,

Where do the hearts go?

Where do the hearts go?
