Girl on the Run From Love.

Edthepoet

He was right that night
For her company
He was right that night
For her touch
Until she slapped him
Round the side of the head
And said, boy you better wake up
No I'm not the girl you've been dreaming of
I'm not the world that sets with your sun

You may move to my
Rhythm and blues
But honey your out of luck
There's never been a soul
Young or old
Nobodies ever kept up

She treated his mind
To Whiskey and wine
He treated his mind
To a lie
He come back around
To a note she had left
That read, boy you better realise
No I'm not the soulmate your waiting on
I'm not the gate keeper of your heart

You may believe
We were meant to be
But honey I'm not the one
There's never been a soul
Young or old
Nobodies ever kept up

Don't confuse
My touch for destiny
Don't confuse
My lust for trust
I'm not the girl you've been dreaming of
I'm the girl on the run from love

This is some cruel honesty in the world. Truth in the words! Great.

This is a great poem! Too bad this girl was on the run. Has a great flow to it though and is a great read! Loved it!

With many in the world who practice deceit, it's kind of refreshing when we come across someone who is upfront with their intentions. I enjoy your work!
