Gingerpuppy

I've known you a little over a year now

I've been in love with you since.

I loved everything about you,

your smile, your eyes, ,laugh, personality.

You could do no wrong in my eyes.

Looking at you I would feel everything,

like I was on cloud 9.

But then it changed.

I felt nothing.

I was carrying your child,

but still I felt nothing for you.

Your smile was just a smile,

eyes were just eyes.

You were just a regular person who meant nothing.

I felt nothing and I'm not sorry for how I feel.

WELCOME GINGER PUPPY (Love your Pen Name !) I enjoyed the personal authenticity and integrity of your poem because you told it like it was and now is. Love is ephemeral one day it is red hot (hot enough to conceive) and the next it is stone cold ~ I don't know why it just happens. "I was on cloud 9 ~ But then it changed ~ I felt nothing !" It has happened to me more than once so I can empathise. You seem to have gotten over the feelings and I pray every happiness for you and your Baby. I know several Single Parent Mothers who are doing an excellent job (without a Man) of raising their Child as I am sure you are. You will find MPS is a very supportive and empathetic site. Thanks for sharing ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
