Grocery Cashier

HalcyonHusky

I walk into the store
Today it's a big crowd
We clock in by the door
The angry mob is loud
Morning shift seems tired
My line seems ired

Day goes by alright
And I calm down
Then coworkers fight
And a shelf hits the ground
Head throbs with a pain
Ibuprofen to keep sane

I'm running out of power
As the store becomes dead
Minute feels like an hour
And there's throbbing in my head
The boss's wrath never fails
My advice, never work in sales

Thanks HUSKY ~ Working in a Retail Store is never easy ~ the only advantage ~ Working in the COOP in the UK (for a while) I got 10% discount on my Grocery bill and any damaged packets or tins for 25% ! I never went hungry ! We don't have JANUARY SALES in retail FOOD in the UK ! Thanks for sharing & caring ~ Yours BRIAN

Very good poem. Nice rhyme and rhythm. I like your advice to never work in sales! Don't worry. I wont!
