Shades of Gray

JennyDanford0333

your words are like a knife ripping me apart
piercing and shredding my heart
stealing it from me
leaving it broken and bleeding on the floor
I don't think I can take much more
your indifference invades my soul like a cancer
my heart held prisoner by this disaster
my love for you is like a death sentence
this pain is my penance
how can you be so bold
assuming you deserve all the control
feeling none of the pain
leaving me to go insaine
why are you blind to me
is black and white all you see
unable to think in shades of gray
it is too easy to turn your back and just walk away

WELCOME JENNY ~ Thanks for your first poem which is full of angst ! Love the structure ~ rhyming couplets give a poem both dynamism and flow ! I agree with you final sentiment ! People who only think in B & W can be both boring and manipulative many "Shades of Gray" gives one much more flexibility ! Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN (UK)
