A simple plea.

Adrian Gretton

A SIMPLE PLEA...

This person before you seems ok
But struggles every single day
They may look cheerie, even bright
But really they are far from right

They smile and try to be polite
They try to hide their dreadful plight
But deep inside they're full of dread
As depression raises its ugly head

Every day they fight for life,
Through pain, anguish and daily strife
They're constant darkness knows no end
It slowly drives them round the bend

They feel so lonely, empty too
Useless and hopeless to name a few
A failure, redundant, a waste of space
No help, no care, and no safe place

They want to shout and scream to all
To tell them they're about to fall
But silence grips them oh so tight
And locks them in they're private fight

So if a person that you know
May possibly be feeling low,
Hold out a hand and spend some time
To think about this little rhyme

Just a minute from your day,
Could really chase a frown away
A break from misery and strife
Could really help save someone's life....
