So there it is,
At the tip of my tongue.
Sitting and laughing.
Feeling at home.
My tongue, I need,
Important for speech.
Yet, that word sits there,
So far out of reach.
I have the ability,
To taste the meaning,
To chew and swallow,
Digest the reason.
But, for this I’m faced,
Stuck here in limbo.
Disconnection between,
My brain and syllables.
To be able to express,
That word stuck there.
Frustration mounts,
As I rock in my chair.
Forget it for now,
Find an alternative.
Cat’s got my tongue.
Use a different expletive.

Very nice poem! Happens to all of us. Me more than most! lol Cute picture. Well done!
Thanks Christina. I just think when we write we are always trying to expand our vocabularies. And, as a result, we get stuck. I think my brain is just trying to carve new paths. At least I hope so...ha ha
So, enough humor over this poem, enough of the "I can't find the right word," schtick, let's talk about the poem, Great photo of the lion. You should have put him in a pair of red glasses. Words lost and never found, we've all been there. I keep the old thesaurus handy and grab it to find the meaning I'm looking for and usually find the word. The secret is selecting the right expletive. I find the earlier part of the alphabet begins the more powerful cuss words. That usually pries loose the what I was trying to recall. Now, this poem has stirred a lot of interest, which simply means there are a lot of forgetful people on this site. Anyways, enjoyed your....ah....ah.....poem. Yes, that's it. - Phil A.
Thanks Phil. I appreciate your thoughts and insight. Yes, I think we are always looking for the right word. It just stays hidden sometimes. 🙂
So relatable and in good humor! Great write!

Thanks Augustus. Yes, poor thing lost his roar. There were a lot of photos to select from, but I thought he was the best. 🙂
