Aaliyah Gisele

The year 2016 went by so fast,
I remember saying that life is going by too fast,
It all just went by so quick,
I remembered when 2015 had ended and 2016 came here,
My grandmother had her some smoke and a beer,
And I would see my favorite football team play and I would always cheer,
2016 was the year I found the meaning of the word "queer"
I also remember stepping out my front door, and seeing a deer.

    2016 went by fast, but 2017 is going even faster. Do things you always wanted to before it ends. This poem is wonderful. Keep on writing. You're an amazing poet.

      Thanks ILYAH for another quirky poem full of rhyme ~ rhythm and meaning ! The older you get the faster time goes so if you think 2016 whizzed by take a grip on 2017 while you have a chance ! Glad you have a fave Football Team good place to make Friends with fellow supporters ! We live and learn all the time and we use the word "queer" in normal situations like a BLUE DAFFODIL which would be a QUEER (different) color because they are normally tellow ! It also (as you now know) has sexual connotations ~ people who are attracted to the same sex. It is not a nice word to use in this connection ~ we should use LGBT ~ OK.
