missing my memory...

P.H.Rose

             Missing my memory

When in my 20's, my 30's and into my 40's ,
I had a memory so sharp, despite sporting head injuries.
But now in my 50's, I'm afraid it's all gone,
I'm not even sure, what day I am on.
Missing Keys are an item, that make me most angry,
They just disappear, when I know they were handy.
I've even drove up and parked, at my old family home,
A place we had our kids, but for years, it's not been our own.
The simple things I forget, get me so very upset,
Like the time I forgot, to take the dog to the vet.
My wife looked at me today, with a quizzical stare,
She said, Shouldn't you be at work, not here, but there.
Don't get me started about, anniversary's I cannot remember,
It was my 34th with my wife, and forgotten in December.
My daughter turned up recently, with grand kids in tow,
Apparently I am babysitting, and was asked not long ago.
I've tried all suggestion, of ways to not forget stuff,
But I've already forgotten, and got myself in a huff.
I'm afraid I'm just gonna, have to put up with it now
Until in my pine box, and end my memory row......

So long as they don't forget where they put me..

A very good poem. Don't worry. Forgetting your keys are one thing. Forgetting what keys ARE are when you have to worry! Another great write!

Enjoyed this and don't worry - I've always had a bad memory - the joy of getting old is that I can now blame it on my age !!
